Lakewood 400 Part Two

Today I am posting more photos I took at the Lakewood 400 Antiques show.  As I mentioned in the last post, I made several new friends when I had a booth there.  They were gracious enough to allow me to take these pictures.

Peg at Vintage Memories has such pretty vignettes...

Lakewood 400 Antiques Show

The third weekend every month is the Lakewood 400 Antique show in Cumming, GA., just north of Atlanta.  Friday I went to the show and took some photos in the booths of some of the dealers I know.  I had space there for 6 months this past year and met some very nice people.  They work hard and love what they do, but to tell you the truth, it's more fun to be a visitor than a dealer.

Here are some pictures I took in Martha's space, Favorite Things - Shabby and Cottage Furnishings.  She also has a booth at Queen of Hearts Antiques and Interiors in Alpharetta, GA.

great shelf with wonderful detailing
love the chippy white mantle

Right across the aisle from Martha is Particia of DiBona Designs.
Her art and jewelry creations are a joy to peruse!

That's it for now.  I will be posting more pictures from Lakewood 400 soon...

The Good

First off, let me start by saying I am grateful and appreciative of all that I have.  Family, health, a paycheck hubby brings home, roof over our heads and food on the table.  The furniture/decor (such as it is) came from our other house when we moved 9 yrs ago.

Moving from a neighborhood to a house on 6 acres has been both rewarding and challenging.  I had to finally tell myself to focus on the good ( land, gardens, pool, view out the windows ) and stop obsessing over the negative (since we don't focus on them, we won't mention them).

Here are a few photos of the good...

The Next Step

Have you noticed that your tastes are changing as you are maturing, aka - getting older.  Mine certainly are!  I find myself drawn to a more neutral palette for home interiors.

Sure, the red and gold color scheme I have had FOREVER is great at Christmas to go with all those red and gold decorations that I have had FOREVER.

But I am so over it.  Inspiration can be found on other blogs, on pinterest and in magazines.

But I do love a pop of color, especially painted furniture like this.
