It's Always Something

It's always something...
I had been babysitting my sweet grandson, Hudson, and was stopping here and there and the way home.
Voice message from hubby...we had a little problem...toilet overflowed and no one was at home to catch it.
Hmmm,  really don't want to hurry home since it is under control, so I stop a few more places.

I get home and my house has been ripped apart!

The boys bathroom where it all started

water into Connor's room which I had just painted 2 weeks before

ripping out the ceiling in our closet which is below the boys bathroom

down to the HVAC system in the basement

a dumpster full of debris

Huge industrial fans and dehumidifiers on all 3 floors putting out tons of heat, turn off the a/c in the house and it's 95 degrees outside.
So we bunk out on sofas, boys spend the nights with friends, and cleanup continues.....

Still Here

Just popping in to share some photos of the roses and flowers.  Everything is lush and beautiful from all the rain we have been having here in GA.

Peony that came up in a random place, did not plant it but glad to have it join the garden

Pink and purple combo

Not sure why some of these pics look distorted, but they are still pretty.

Decorating for Easter has never been on my list of things to do.  Sure, there would be an egg hunt and a basket for the children when they were little.  Maybe a family dinner, and always church on Sunday.

Easter Flower Cross

The flower filled Cross out in front of the church, the adorable children in their Easter finery, the service and music that CHRIST IS RISEN!
I have put together a few Easter images for those of you wanting a little inspiration for your Easter
I hope everyone has a wonderful EASTER!

A First!

Reading through other blogs, I have noticed that the authors mention the friendships they make and the people they connect with are among the greatest benefits of blogging.

Even though I have not had many comments or views on my blog as of yet, I can already feel the sense of community and see how these friendships nurture and encourage.

My last post was about link parties and I actually dared to step outside my little world and post a link on another blog.  Imagine my surprise when I read the newest post from that blog and saw my entry among the items she featured!!!

THANK YOU to Debra from Common Ground for hosting The Marketplace.  Here are some of the items she featured along with my French Script Rose Pillow...

Learning Something New

Well, today I discovered the most amazing thing about blogging!  You can add links to other blogs.  Not just random links to random blogs, but PARTIES!!

I had heard of link parties, but had not ventured further than browsing through them.

Anita from Cedar Hill Ranch hosts The Scoop...Anita's description...The weekly link party, that features the scoop on the best posts from around the web.
Stop by every Tuesday, link up and browse through the posts.
You'll always find great inspiration for projects and discover some new blog friends too.

Debra at Common Ground has The Marketplace.  Here is the description of what that is in her own words...

This is the place where you can link up all your Etsy and Online Shop items, then have fun checking out what's new. You don't have to have a blog to participate. You can link up to three of your individual items or a link to your online store.

Linda at Costal Charm shares Nifty Thrifty Tuesday, stop by and check it out at Nifty Thrifty Tuesday

Is that awesome or what?!!
Off to do some more browsing to see what else I can learn...Have a good day!

It's Been a While

Yes, it has been a while.  Long story made died.  So after getting a new one, learning Windows 8 and trying to retrieve photos, I'm ready to give this blogging thing a try again.

Here are some random pictures from the Feb. show at Lakewood 400.  Since it is this upcoming weekend, I thought I had better get these posted...

Lakewood 400 Antiques Show

The third weekend every month is the Lakewood 400 Antique show in Cumming, GA., just north of Atlanta.  Friday I went to the show and took some photos in the booths of some of the dealers I know.  I had space there for 6 months this past year and met some very nice people.  They work hard and love what they do, but to tell you the truth, it's more fun to be a visitor than a dealer.

Here are some pictures I took in Martha's space, Favorite Things - Shabby and Cottage Furnishings.  She also has a booth at Queen of Hearts Antiques and Interiors in Alpharetta, GA.

great shelf with wonderful detailing
love the chippy white mantle

Right across the aisle from Martha is Particia of DiBona Designs.
Her art and jewelry creations are a joy to peruse!

That's it for now.  I will be posting more pictures from Lakewood 400 soon...
